Jaisalmer Fossil Habur Stone 6″ Inches Bowl ( हाबुर पत्थर की कटोरी ) By D’Dass Store!
Katori is a bowl. We have designed it to follow the curves of our hands to fit perfectly within. The marble used comes from one of the oldest quarries in India. This is the same marble as used to build Jaisalmer Fort. Jaisalmer Limestone is a natural material which means that no two objects will be the same, so every piece that you buy will only be individual to you. The variation appears in the form of black dots and brown lines. These are handmade products and marble is a natural material, so every product differs slightly in size and colour to those visible in the store. All of our D’DASS pieces are original with different veining and patterning which makes each piece uniquely beautiful. Stone is a natural product and may contain fissures, cracks, holes and pits. No two pieces of natural stone are alike. This picture is an accurate representation of the material specified, but we cannot guarantee that the product purchased will be an exact match. These are not faults and we cannot accept returns or refunds if you are unhappy with the colouring of your piece.
It is called habur stone of Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The village habur is 40 km away from Jaisalmer stone. Habur stone, the miraculous fossil stone is said to have been formed 125 million years ago, by sea shell formation in Jaisalmer. It has huge medicinal properties like diabetic cure, blood pressure control etc. It can turn milk into curd without fermentation. When lukewarm-milk is kept in this stone for 12 hour , good tasty curd is found.
It is really the Habur limestone of which the locals are particularly proud. It is used in “Curd making” and bowl available on our website is Genuine Habur stone but we don’t claim “Curd making” with the same. Result may vary from stone to stone. Reddish brown in color with a dark black pattern, it is rich in fossil bacteria. This explains why milk turns to curd overnight when left in a glass molded from the limestone. Also, don’t wash it with any kind of soap or chemical, it may harm the bacteria or their natural process.
